Rocca Changes the World (2019) on Netflix

Plot summary

Rocca is eleven and has grown up at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, where her father, an astronaut stationed on the ISS, let her join the training instead of attending regular school. She is sent to Hamburg for fifth grade and moves in with her grandmother Dodo, who still blames her for her mother's death in childbirth. On the flight there, food poisoning takes down the pilots and nearly everyone aboard, and Rocca lands the plane. She keeps that to herself. In Hamburg she takes in an injured squirrel, and its care leads to her grandmother's hospitalization, which brings the Child Welfare office into her life. At school and on the street she meets classmates who are bullied and homeless people others ignore, and she wants to help them.
