Plot summary
Lizzy is worn out from looking after Kathy, her alcoholic and abusive mother, and on the drive to her father's place she says she wants to stay with him instead. The trip is for the father's custody turn. Night comes, the car hits a wolf on a country road, and the marks on the animal suggest another creature hurt it. Kathy is injured in the crash, so Lizzy calls a tow truck and an ambulance. Jesse drives the truck out and crawls under the car to work. The dead wolf has vanished from the roadside, which frightens Lizzy. Kathy gets out to speak with Jesse and cannot find him.
