Plot summary
Ruza came to Zurich from Belgrade more than twenty-five years ago and has built a settled life there. In her fifties, she owns a cafeteria and keeps to an orderly routine, detached from the country she left. Mila, the waitress, also emigrated decades ago and hopes to return to a house on the coast in Croatia. Ana, a young woman who fled Sarajevo, walks into the cafeteria looking for work, and Ruza hires her. Ana's impulsive, spirited efforts to bring life into the place irritate Ruza, who runs it with a firm hand. The two women clash over the cafeteria, yet Ruza is drawn to Ana's energy.
