Plot summary
In ancient Egypt, a priest drove a maiden to her death. To free himself, he must find her and help her, and she now lives as Sunya Ashling, a young American singing student. She is torn between three roads. One is a career in European opera. Another is going to South America with her fiancé, Paul Judson. The third is a marriage to wealthy Robert Goring that would save her father from financial ruin. The priest has come back as a gypsy vagabond, who grants Sunya visions of the future life that each of the three roads would bring her.
