Plot summary
Felix Webb, a successful playwright in London, has been married to Elena for fourteen years. He is also having an intense affair with Hilary Rule, the actress playing the leading lady in his new production, and he plans to leave his wife for her. Elena suspects him of cheating, and her rage is hard to hold back. Robin Grange, a brash American actor and a Hollywood star, comes to London to feature in the play, complicating the plan the playwright has made. Robin offers a solution: he will seduce Felix's elegant wife so that she stops hounding her husband. In desperation, Felix agrees.
