About the name
Bon Jovi's band name was suggested by Pamela Maher, an employee of manager Doc McGhee, who pointed to two-word bands like Van Halen; the group had originally planned to call themselves Johnny Electric.
Big break
Bon Jovi's "Runaway" reached radio after he visited WAPP 103.5FM to write and sing station jingles, and promotion director John Lassman suggested putting the song on the station's local talent compilation.
Behind the camera
Bon Jovi wrote the entire soundtrack for Young Guns II, known as Blaze of Glory, after friend Emilio Estevez asked to use "Wanted Dead or Alive" as the theme for his Billy the Kid sequel, and it became Bon Jovi's first solo album.
