Plot summary
A woman takes a boy into her home as her adopted son. When the mother is killed in a car accident, the adoption agency looks to the boy's father, a musician who earns his living on the road and is away for long stretches at a time. The agency judges him unfit to raise the boy. The caseworker who holds the file is a cold, bureaucratic one, and the decision about where the boy will live rests with her.
