Plot summary
The documentary assembles what survives of James Dean: still photographs in black and white, unused footage from East of Eden, a recording in which he speaks about safe driving for Warner Bros. Presents, and film taken at the Giant opening night. The recollections come from the couple who raised him, from his father's parents, from a taxi driver he knew in New York, and from the owner of the Los Angeles restaurant where he ate. Dean is also present in archive material, and a narrator connects the images and the spoken memories. It came out two years after he died.
