Plot summary

A couple in their thirties, Mikey and Kate, are picked for a challenge devised by a famous professor. They have to share one room, called the Immaculate Room, for fifty days. Lasting the full stretch brings them five million dollars. If one of them walks out, the partner who remains collects a single million. The room is white and sterile, holding only a bed, a bathroom and a food dispenser stocked with bare necessities. A robotic voice reads announcements, and a countdown clock tracks the time. Mikey and Kate believe at first that they can hold out, yet the days turn boring and bleak. Nothing entertains them, and a tasteless liquid in a carton is all they have to eat.
