Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The 'High Sign' (1921)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The High Sign was the first short Buster Keaton made as an independent producer, although One Week was released first, but he shelved it, disappointed with the result, and it stayed unseen until the following year.
- The climactic chase scenes inside the house were staged on a split-level, cutaway set fitted with revolving wall panels, trap doors and hidden corridors in every room.
- Keaton had broken his ankle while filming the first version of The Electric House, so his company needed a new film to market, which is why the shelved The High Sign was finally released on April 4, 1921.
