Plot summary
Dr. Nils Hellstrom is a fictional scientist who guides viewers through the film. He makes a case, built on theories that sound scientific, that insects will come out ahead of humanity in the struggle to survive, since they adapt easily and multiply quickly, while people are held back by too much individualism. The film mixes documentary with horror and apocalyptic prophecy, treating the contest between humans and insects satirically. Its footage shows termites, ants, wasps, locusts, mayflies and butterflies, among other insects seldom filmed before.
