Plot summary
The Ground We Won is an observational portrait of Reporoa, a small New Zealand town where dairy farming, hard drinking and rugby shape the days. The club's team is drawn from the farms, and the Saturday game is where the men's passions collect. The team has come through a long run of bitter losses, and the men want to redeem themselves on the field. The club keeps its rites and rituals, and through rugby the town turns its boys into men.
