Plot summary
Across the five star systems called the Joker Systems lie many kingdoms, and Emperor Amaterasu governs them with his Mirage Knights. The knights who steer giant robots, the Mortar Heads, are Headliners, and each of them depends on a fatima. Fatimas resemble humans in body and mind, are mostly female, and have greater physical abilities, but they cannot have children. Lachesis, a fatima, serves as co-pilot to the mecha pilot Ladios. Warlords who stand against Amaterasu are many, and Ladios has to save Lachesis from one of them.
