Plot summary
Jaime Roland finishes treatment for cancer, and her father Stephen, a former hacker, is persuaded by Dr. Caine to have her scanned to confirm she is cured. Dr. Colleen O'Brian runs the MRI, and Jaime has a seizure during the examination and dies. Stephen asks Dr. Jamison, the director, for an explanation. He blames either malpractice or the machine; Jamison says only an autopsy can establish the cause, and brings in Al Bercovicci, who is responsible for the experimental scanner and insists it works perfectly. The autopsy leads Jamison to accuse Dr. Caine of malpractice, saying that tumors filled the girl's head. Stephen does not accept that answer and joins forces with Colleen to look into the machine.
