Plot summary
Jill Reynolds is in Bogota with Gina, her father's former sister-in-law and a television reporter, and with Gina's cameraman, Ramón, whom she is dating. Her father, the American photographer David Reynolds, arrives with his fiancée Lauren to persuade Jill to come home for their wedding. Jill resents the marriage and refuses. She says her passport is in a nearby city, so the group drives through a rainstorm. Captain Morales warns that the way ahead is flooded, but Gina says she knows the roads and they continue. The car goes off the road, and Lauren breaks two ribs. The group takes shelter at a remote inn, and its owner, Felipe, lets them in but warns them not to leave the lobby. Jill and Ramón slip away and hear a child crying below.
