Plot summary
Rural France, around 1881. Land baron Seamus Laurent wipes out a Romani clan on his land. The clan's elderly leader had already cast a set of silver teeth in the shape of a wolf's fangs, and she is buried with them. Nightmares of the fangs and a scarecrow disturb the village, including Seamus's children Edward and Charlotte. Farm boy Timmy digs up the fangs, puts them in his mouth, and bites Edward's throat before fleeing. Edward grows ill and disappears. Pathologist John McBride arrives seeking the traveling Roma. With police lieutenant Alfred Moliere, he meets Seamus. The village suspects a wild animal, but John warns that a more sinister presence is at work.
