Plot summary
At Drake University, the fraternities are pledging, and a student reported to have wanted to join Doma Tau Omega is found dead. Chris Chandler, new to campus, has a roommate, Dan, and little regard for fraternities, but Megan, a psychology student, asks the two of them to come with her to a Doma Tau Omega party. There Chris is drawn to the fraternity's leader, Devon Eisley, and approaches him; Megan and Dan wait, then leave without him. Devon plies Chris with drink and makes him a member of the house by exchanging blood with him. The change in Chris unsettles Dan.
