Plot summary
A little imp cavorts around an empty bedroom at an inn, hopping from the bed across to the table and from a chair up onto an expensive couch. The innkeeper and his family show an important guest into the room, and the imp hides inside a bureau. The guest puts his coat in that same bureau, and the imp pops out and chases him around the room. The tricks that carry the imp through his leaps lean on pyrotechnic effects and substitution splices, with the chair sequence alone using more than sixty. Two versions of the film appear to exist, differing in the plot outline and in the number of chairs.
