Plot summary
Princess Fatima of Makyad becomes a pupil at St. Trinian's, an English girls' school whose headmistress, Millicent Fritton, presides over pupils with criminal connections and lessons that lean toward crime rather than homework. The police and the Ministry of Education want the school closed, and it is close to bankruptcy. Millicent's twin brother Clarence, a bookmaker, visits and hears about Fatima. He enrolls Arabella, his daughter, telling her to befriend the princess and find out about the Sultan's racehorse. Superintendent Kemp Bird sends Sergeant Ruby Gates to pose as a games mistress, while the Ministry seeks a new inspector after two earlier ones disappeared.
