Plot summary
Belle Starr grew up under the control of men who abused her, and she has since made herself their equal at riding, shooting, smoking and gambling as she moves through the Old West, usually in men's clothes. The gambler Larry Blackie is the one man who matches her. Their relationship runs hot and cold, with arguments and sometimes violence. At a card table he wins her money and her ring, then offers her one more bet, a night with her against the pot. She deals three queens of four and loses. He orders her to stay out of his territory, and she tells him she is not finished with him.
