Plot summary
Mary Kay Ash, the cosmetics queen, sits down with an inquiring reporter and recounts her climb to the head of the home-beauty industry, and she never misses a chance to stress the doors her success opened for American working women. Her predominance is now threatened by Jinger Heath, a much younger rival whose BeautiControl company cuts deeply into Mary Kay's share of customers. Lexy Wilcox, a slightly off-center beauty who works for Mary Kay, is caught in the middle of the fight between the two companies. The story is based on a real corporate war of the mid-1990s between Mary Kay and Jinger Heath.
