The Baby in the Basket (2025) on Netflix

Plot summary

In 1944, far from the Second World War, a small community of nuns at St. Augustine's keeps to itself on a remote Scottish island. As a storm front moves in, a cloaked figure leaves a wicker basket on the convent doorstep, and inside it lies an infant boy with no note or word of where he came from. Mother Superior and her sisters decide to keep him until the weather clears and then send him to the mainland. Sister Agnes, known among them for her devotion, hears whispers in the empty corridors and sees things the others do not, and she becomes certain the baby is not an innocent child. The other nuns blame the confinement and the storm, and Mother Superior has Agnes shut in her quarters.
