Plot summary
Laura is a depressed, introverted nurse who lives alone in a small apartment. Her boyfriend Antoine is abusive and distant, and leaves as soon as they have sex. She finds a red spot on her groin, loses a fingernail in the shower, and discovers a purple stain on her back. She prepares for a party and her friends mock her compulsive cleaning; Julian, one of them, takes an interest in her. Antoine forces himself on her again, and that night she falls ill and vomits over him. Afterward she wakes naked and alone, slips on shards of broken glass, and bandages her head.
