Plot summary
Centuries earlier, Mad Dolly is captured on Lord Garrick's orders and puts a curse on the Garrick family. In the present, James Garrick and his cousin Ann are the last of the line. James owns the old family house and has made a horror film about the curse; he also keeps Mad Dolly's sword. At a preview for friends, a hypnotist places Ann in a trance. While entranced, Ann strikes at James with the sword and wounds him slightly. Once the guests stop her, Ann leaves the house. Soon after, an unseen force begins hunting their circle of friends.

Nine defective prints of Saturday Night Fever that The Rank Organisation supplied were used to create the mass of film stock that attacks Philip in Terror before he is killed.- Michael Craze was forced to leave Terror after suffering an epileptic seizure on set, so his character Gary was replaced by Philip.
- Terror began with money for a low-budget film but no script and no story idea: after seeing Suspiria, the filmmakers made a list of the scenes they wanted and handed it to writer David McGillivray.
- Warren oversaw the sound effects for Terror and produced some of them himself by recording his own voice backwards.

The scene of Viv's murder was cut from Terror before its UK release to remove shots of a knife going through the character's feet.- The characters played by Glynis Barber and Elaine Ives-Cameron were not in Terror's original script; they were written in after Warren and his associate producer Moira Young were impressed by the actresses' auditions and were determined to use them.
- Ivor Slaney produced Terror's music as a series of sound patterns, which Warren then matched to various scenes to create the soundtrack.
- The Garrick house in Terror was filmed at Admiral's Walk in Pirbright, the home of the Baron and Baroness DeVeuce, which had previously been the main location for Satan's Slave.
