Plot summary

David Chamberlain is a mechanic still grieving Jane, his wife. He is behind on his payments, and his daughter Annabelle has to leave college and come home. Zach, a veteran of the war in Iran who lost a leg, asks him for work and is turned down. Driving out, David crashes when an object falls from the sky. Annabelle finds him near the wreck and takes him to a hospital, where a doctor reports that he has two working kidneys, though one of his had been given to Jane. Convinced the object is issuing instructions through his dead wife, David hires Zach to help him retrieve it.
