Plot summary
Three years after the Apache wars end, the Chiricahua Apaches lose their peacemaking chief, Cochise. His elder son, Taza, shares his father's ideas. Naiche, Taza's brother, does not: he yearns for war, and he also wants Oona, the woman Taza is betrothed to. Naiche begins stirring up trouble right away, and a bigoted cavalry officer is involved in the trouble.
