Plot summary
Newly engaged, Hannah and Mike are balancing busy careers and have not yet talked about the wedding or their future together. Mike must let go of being self-sufficient; Hannah's friendship with Norman, her dentist, stays awkward, and her mother Delores has published a Regency-era novel while favoring Norman as a partner for Hannah. Hannah hosts a book reading at the bakery and caters a Regency costume gala for the launch, where her sister Michelle, a photojournalist, returns home. Then Hannah finds a body at the fitness center, where only security guard Tad was on the property. Sheriff Metzger, short staffed, calls in Agent Stella Parks from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to help with the case. Lake Eden has seen a rash of thefts, one at the gym, and the victim had recently moved to town.
