Plot summary
Pat Pitsenbarger is a hairdresser by trade, retired now and living in a nursing home. In Sandusky, the small town where he worked, he was renowned as the Liberace of Sandusky. A former client of his has died, and Pat wants to be the one who styles her hair for the funeral. To do that he leaves the nursing home without permission and sets out on foot. The trip runs across town, and it is a long walk for a retired man of his age.
