Plot summary
Three boys watch the first Ultraman broadcast at Daigo Madoka's house on July 17, 1966, and are inspired to do great things when they grow up. A strange young girl joins their softball game and hears their plans: Asuka wants to play professional baseball, Daigo wants to fly a spaceship to Ultraman's homeworld, and Gamu wants to build it. The girl keeps her own wish to herself and disappears. Thirty years later the three have forgotten that passion and lead ordinary lives. Cycling late to work, Daigo finds his coworkers staring at a mirage over Yokohama. In his vision a ruined city swarms with kaiju and eight Ultramen fight them off, while Alien Nackle declares that Ultraman Mebius has been captured. Rena, Hayata's daughter, approaches him.
