Plot summary
A meteorite fragment struck Peckham postman Bob Kenner and gave him powers he could not control. The Ministry of Defence trained him, and as SuperBob he became the world's first superhero and a government civil servant. Six years on he is awkward and lonely, and his superior Theresa Ford approves a documentary that aims to show him as an ordinary man, not a weapon controlled by the state. Bob tells the crew that Tuesday is his day off, and that he is getting ready for a date, his first in years, with a librarian called June. He shares his Peckham home with his security guard Barry, and his cleaner Dorris cares for his mother at a residential home. Theresa is preparing him for a summit with the American senator Bill Jackson, who sees him as a dangerous asset.
