Plot summary
Ivy is 17 and has been in remission from leukemia for ten months. School friendships have become difficult since her diagnosis, so her parents enroll her at CRF Camp, a four-week summer program for minors with cancer. She agrees only reluctantly. At camp she meets Patrick, the camp president; Tristan, who leads outdoor activities; Lucy, a therapist; nurse Brenda; and Ella, her dormmate, who hopes to lose her virginity there. Ella tries to bring Ivy into the group of senior campers, among them Archie, Jake, Maisie and Ralph, but Ivy keeps her distance. After a confrontation with a guest speaker, Patrick reprimands her, and she agrees to therapy sessions with Lucy.
