Plot summary
Fred and Janet are unhappily married and on a trip together. Fred wants to put money into a country inn, and the money has to come from Janet. She refuses him, and she tells him that she has been having an affair with another man. The two of them argue in the car as the Ontario backwoods pass outside, and the argument ends with the car in the ditch and Janet badly hurt. Fred gets out and leaves the scene, hoping she will not survive the night. The next person to come along the road, Al, stops when he sees the wreck.
