Plot summary

Dr. Henry Moorehouse is convinced that a single vaccine can answer every disease. He goes to extremes in his research, which centers on a large parasite he calls Ella. Henry says the organism can build a vaccine against whatever virus it meets. Gemma works as his assistant, and she says she watched him turn from a gifted physician into a vampire-like monster once a test failed. A parasite has taken hold of him too, and it is making him bloodthirsty. He wants the thing growing inside him stopped, and he wants the rest of the world kept from his cure.
