Plot summary

Jordan Donovan works as a photographer in New York City, where she and Edward Morgan have been going steady for five years. When he proposes that she move in with him instead of marrying, she is disappointed. Her closest friend places a matchmaking notice in a magazine, and Jordan agrees to the arrangement, which pairs her with Tyler Ross, a rancher in Wyoming whose sister Laurie posted his candidacy as well. Jordan travels west to meet Tyler, Laurie and Laurie's fiancé. He is put off by her city manner and she reads his manner as hostile, though both are drawn to each other. Jordan, who rode often as a girl, and Tyler share a love of horses and a concern for the wild mustangs near his land.
