Plot summary
Once a general, Johnny Rico now wears a colonel's insignia and trains recruits on a space station circling Mars. His squad is a weak one. On the planet below, the war with the bugs has never touched daily life, and many Martians see no reason to remain in the conflict. That complacency leaves the colony open when the bugs pick Mars as their next target. Rico's troopers include Corporal One-Oh-One, who works with explosives, and Geo Malik, a quiet soldier who prefers science to combat. Sky Marshal Amy Snapp is an ambitious officer with interests of her own in the coming attack.
