Plot summary
Mike Muggins steps away from the spy trade to raise his daughter Amelia. A decade later Amelia is a child prodigy: she has invented an oxygen iodide laser drill and is to collect the National Scientific Achievement Award, presented by the scientists Dr. Robert Farley and Dr. Claudette Amour. Minkey, Mike's old partner, a primate trained for espionage, now headlines a circus show. Dr. Farley arrives in a limousine, says Amelia's father has a surprise for her, and a manipulated video convinces her to go with him. Hugo, a henchman, has been photographing her. Farley's copy of her drill will not run, so she starts work on it in Japan. Hugo then delivers Mike a recording in which Farley warns him to keep the authorities away. Mike calls Edith, then Minkey, and asks them to come out of retirement.
