Plot summary
Max is a Belgian Malinois who serves with U.S. Marines in Afghanistan as a military dog, handled by Kyle Wincott. When Kyle is killed in combat, Max is traumatized and can no longer remain in the service, and he is sent home to America. Kyle's family adopts him rather than see him euthanized for his disturbed behavior. The Marines notice that Max is calm only around Kyle's younger brother, Justin, who sells illegally copied video games and wants little to do with the dog at first.
