Spaceman (2024) on Netflix

Plot summary

Czech cosmonaut Jakub Procházka has spent half a year alone on a voyage toward the Chopra cloud, a mass of dust and particles that lies past Jupiter. A South Korean mission is racing his to the same destination. Back on Earth, Jakub's wife, Lenka, has gone quiet since he left her behind while she was pregnant with their daughter. She writes to say she wants to end the marriage, but Commissioner Tůmová, his commanding officer, keeps the message from him, afraid of what it would do to his state of mind. Days pass with no word from Lenka. Then Jakub comes across a spider-like creature tucked away in one of the ship's compartments. It can read his thoughts, he calls it Hanuš, and it offers to help him with the solitude.
