- The budget for Juno Mak's film reportedly ballooned from HK$200 million to HK$400 million by August 2020, making it the most expensive Hong Kong production to date.
- Filming of a snow scene was shot outside Windsor House in 30 °C heat, with star Sean Lau taking part, on 25 September 2017.
- The crew built a 1:1 replica of Causeway Bay in Huizhou for the film's large-scale opening, revealed at the first press conference on 28 September 2017, which director Juno Mak and cast members Sean Lau, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Gao Yuanyuan and Michelle Wai attended.
