Plot summary
Checco sells Fata Gaia vacuum cleaners and lives in Padua with his wife Daniela and their son Nicolò. Selling to relatives who moved to the north makes him the most successful salesman, and he borrows money from FidoFly to buy presents for his family. When robot cleaners arrive and his family has enough machines, he earns less, FidoFly takes back what he bought, and Daniela asks for a divorce. Eating at soup kitchens, Checco swears to Nicolò that a perfect report card will earn him a vacation. Nicolò succeeds, and Checco, who must sell at least seven cleaners or be fired, takes him to Molise, the family's home region, to sell to the relatives still there. They stay with his aunt, who says the rest are dead or in Canada and that his cousin Onofrio already owns one.
