Plot summary
Queen Eleanor of Tabor wishes for a daughter, and Snow White is born. After the queen dies, King Magnus battles an invading army and takes a prisoner named Ravenna, whom he marries the next day. Ravenna is a sorceress: on their wedding night she kills him and takes the kingdom. Snow White is locked in a tower, while William, her childhood friend, escapes with his father, Duke Hammond. Under Ravenna, Tabor declines, and she drains the youth of young women to keep her beauty. When Snow White comes of age, the Magic Mirror reveals that her heart will make the Queen immortal, so her brother Finn is sent to fetch her. Snow White flees into the Dark Forest, beyond the reach of Ravenna's power, and the Queen promises a widowed huntsman his wife's revival if he brings the princess back.
