Plot summary
Police officer Jack "Soldier" Kelly has weapons left over from his Marine days, and when several inner city youths die after taking drugs cut with rat poison, he takes them up. He busts into the drug house that sold the tainted product and kills four dealers. His renegade methods bring an arrest, but his lawyer enters an insanity plea and he is committed to an asylum supervised by Dr. Pierce. There he meets patients including Torchy, a pyromaniac he arrested himself, and the oddball residents both assist and hinder his attempts to get out of the institution and pursue his vendetta against the cartel.
