Plot summary
New York is the front line of a war between vampires and the slayers who hunt them. Lord Malgaard, a supremely powerful vampire, is carrying out a plan to turn every person on earth into an unwilling blood donor. The only force that opposes him is a squad of vampire slayers under the command of Dr. Jacob Sloane, a modern-day Van Helsing. Among Sloane's agents is the young Kaitlin Moore, who learns that an illness will kill her within months. She can let the illness take her, or she can live on as one of the creatures she has sworn to destroy.
