Plot summary
Civilization has collapsed under pollution, and the city of Ecoban survives by harvesting energy from the waste around it. Its carbonite is extracted by people who live outside in the wasteland, and only a select few are allowed through the city's shield while many others perish in the waste. Reports that pollution levels are falling raise hope that the land might become livable again, but some officials in Ecoban decide to keep polluting so they can hold on to their place inside the city, setting Ecoban against the people who live outside its walls. Shua is one of the workers who extract that carbonite; his childhood friend Jay holds a post in Ecoban's security unit. Her commander Cade is his rival for her.

- Miniatures of buildings, mechanics and characters were built and filmed with the HDW-F900 camera co-developed by Sony and Lucasfilm, using one of only two prototype Frazier lenses; the other lens was used on Star Wars by Lucasfilm.
- The Western release, titled Sky Blue, was edited from the Korean version: two minutes were cut and additional music by Sam Spiegel was added.
- The backdrops used photo-realistic CGI and highly detailed models, though convincing CGI animation of human movement was never attempted; backgrounds were shot with traditional motion control techniques then processed to look like computer graphics, vehicles were rendered, and characters were cel animated.
