Plot summary
Eight-year-old Billy Chapman is riding in a car with his parents on Christmas Eve when it stops on a remote road. A stranger in a Santa Claus suit approaches and murders them in front of him. Billy survives and goes into care. Years later he moves between towns and keeps away from lasting relationships. Each December a disembodied voice urges him to punish the naughty, and an Advent calendar ritual asks for one killing a day until Christmas; Billy does the killing in a Santa costume. He arrives in Hackett, takes work at a gift shop that belongs to Mr. Sims and begins a relationship with Sims's daughter, Pam, whose ex-boyfriend, state trooper Max, is watching him.

- Joe Begos, of Almost Human and VFW, pitched a Silent Night, Deadly Night remake built around a robotic Santa gone haywire. It was rejected for deviating too far from the original source material, so Begos developed the idea himself and it became Christmas Bloody Christmas.
