Plot summary
After the September 11 attacks, the Bush administration makes its case for military action against Saddam Hussein, telling the public that Iraq is stockpiling weapons of mass destruction. Most news organizations in Washington accept the account. At the Knight Ridder Washington bureau, reporters Jonathan Landay and Warren Strobel do not. Editor-in-chief John Walcott and war correspondent Joe Galloway back the two of them and insist they stay on the story. With the invasion approaching, the reporters work their sources around Washington, many of whom will speak only if they are not named, looking for what lies behind the administration's claims.
