Plot summary
In early 1990s Jerusalem, a Jewish-Moroccan family speaks Hebrew, Arabic and French as it prepares the Seven Blessings, the week of celebratory meals in a bride's honor. The bride is Marie, who has come from France to marry the man she loves in the country where her family settled. She was two years old when her mother gave her to an infertile sister, a Moroccan custom of the time, and forty years later she has returned to open an old wound. Marie wants an apology for what was decided for her, while the family is certain she should be thanking them.
