Plot summary

Her publisher has just let her go, and novelist Hannah Ryan turns the rejection, and the rest of the trouble in her life, into a pulp crime serial that sends a new chapter to subscribers' devices each week. At first the launch draws only modest attention. Then a real killing closely mirrors the murder Hannah invented, and the serial becomes a massive hit. Hannah has to weigh whether the resemblance is chance or whether someone is using her fiction as a blueprint and working through the murders she made up, and whether another death will follow the next chapter she publishes.
