Plot summary
Scare Campaign has spent five years scaring people with hidden cameras and old school tricks. Its latest target, George, nearly shoots an actress he takes for a real zombie before the crew tells him it is a prank. Emma, another of the show's actresses, asks Marcus, her director and ex-boyfriend, to be more careful about who they choose, in case they scare the wrong person. Marcus reassures her. That morning their manager, Vicki, shows the team Masked Freaks, a web series in which costumed people kill others gruesomely, and it threatens Scare Campaign's popularity. Vicki urges the team to make the pranks bigger to lift their ratings. With a young new actress, Abby, added to the cast, the team sets its next prank in an abandoned psychiatric hospital, aimed at a new groundskeeper, Rohan.
