Plot summary
A wanted man is riding shotgun on a gold shipment, and Sartana, waiting to take him, instead watches a band of Mexican bandits cut down the outriders. They leave the gold in the wagon and toss in dynamite; Sartana smothers the blast and finds the sacks packed with sand. Dressed as a Mexican peon, he follows the bandits to their hideout, then rides on to Appaloosa, where the locals greet him with hard stares. There Samuel Spencer, who appears to run the mine and the town around it, hires him to guard the next shipment. Also watching the gold are Trixie, a saloon owner in need of money, and Sabbath, a rival bounty hunter in a white coat who carries a parasol.
